There's been a recurring theme in my thoughts for the past year and half..Maybe even longer..The theme is snob, snobbish, snobby, and (my personal favorite) snobbery. Yes, at times I can be a huge snob myself, especially when I was in high school, seeking something that I couldn't find yet. The thing about being a snob is it puts a person in a box, limits one's thoughts and one's ability to grow in a personal and professional way.
Since most of my friends are seeking to be creative successful artists in whatever form that may be, I hear tons of bashing of others' projects and a lack of control on their own. I myself have been hard on others' work, but I'm learning that really gets me nowhere and keeps me staying at square one. The only thing we can really do is try to learn from others even if we don't care too much for their work. It can teach what you want and don't want out of art. Or you could be kind and help them and not make them feel little. We all take our time, to whatever level we want to, on any given day.
Nope. I can't see it.
ReplyDeleteNo way are you a snob. No way do you act snobbish or snobby. And no way do you ever engage in snobbery.
