Summer of 08'

The Summer of 2008 was my last summer to feel free like a teenager running games in the night. My hair was short like a boy's because I was seeking liberation from a man. The air was sticky and filled with longings of love while living in a house of five dramatic boys. Our plates were filled with slime and our toes constantly dusty with dust balls. We were craving for something to break us free from our daily existences.
Dolly Parton became my roommate and I's closest companion even if we played only the same single of hers over and over. She seemed to coo us with tails of our Southern homes on every replay. We needed to find love and to be in love. Our summer became a search for someone important to us. We partied, devoured films, read books, and wrote words into our papers but nothing seemed to fulfill the void of longing to be loved.
Something changed mid-to-late summer while we tried to relate our feelings to one another. Something had shifted inside me. I was starting to go a different direction while my friend stayed put. I could no longer talk about how there was no one to crush on. Someone had said hello to me, leaving me wanting more. My actual love story was just beginning.

This past September I turned 26 and it's been one hell of a bumpy ride. It's a hard age with emotional growing pains and learning to really take care of one's self as an adult. My emotions towards everything are strong with a pain of fear and anxiety.

My fears have consisted of becoming a fake adult who has to fill in my life with societally approved life stages, the pains of a career, and the big one that everyone in America is talking about: money. It seems that I turned around and my friends are lacking lust in the fun carefree parts of life and the things we do to see each other lack enthusiasm. When did everything become serious? What happened?

My anxiety is in the fact that most of my friends are 24 just turning 25. It's a young age and should be lived with passion and a need for adventure. I'm terrified of becoming the woman who comes home from a day of work, makes dinner, watches t.v, and then goes to bed. It makes me want to scream my head off when I think of that. I don't want to be afraid of going places and learning. My creative side is dry, needing water. It's craving a boost so much that it hurts. Which makes it hard sometimes to want to always learn, experience, and live for a life of my own. IS this me becoming a 20something blogger writing about the pains of these short years? If it is, I would like a smooth ride with some grace and minus the stress. Thank you.

Georgia On My Mind

Last week, I was sitting in my home in Georgia with my family and friends. I wish I could say that I took tons of photos but sadly I did not.

Here are some of my favorite things I did:

I ate biscuits almost everyday and had no remorse.

I saw one of my favorite people that I hadn't seen in 5 years! Miss Shari Arnold, who is still the same smart, hard working, driven girl I met in the 3rd grade.

I got to watch as many of those god awful romantic comedies, that no one would see with me in the theaters.

I was reading like a mad women. My book of choice was Something Borrowed and I'm loving it.

I got to spend time with one of my best friends, Heidi ho, my grandparents from Oklahoma, my parents, and of course Cooper boy.

The Lovin Spoonful

There is cheese-free pizza cooking in the oven while loverboy sleeps in the bedroom. I`m drinking a Stella and listing to bee bop on my new old sofa. This funny little happy feeling comes all over me because it`s the first time in weeks that I feel calm. My nerves were shot from moving and on top of that dealing with school. I felt as if I were a chicken with its head cut off, flopping everywhere. My attention span and communication skills were zero to null but somehow I managed.

SO I now have a break from school and it finally feels like summer. Summer in the city and that can mean a lot of things. To me it can sometimes mean being lonely with a desire to just feel but I'm not lonely anymore. Now its meaning is a new desire to explore and to take action on the things I've been avoiding... Did I mention there was pizza cooking in the kitchen???

The Blues of School

Last fall, I decided that I wanted to go back to school to receive my AA from Santa Monica College. One of my reasons for my lack of posting so much lately is partly because I`m at school and work all day this semester. School for me was always very hard and I had to give a lot of energy to my school work. By the time high school had finished, I had zero energy or will to give to a regular college setting. Which is why The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) seemed perfect for me--it had nothing to do with math or science and everything to do with acting. AMDA at that time was perfect for me. It was challenging to my confidence and a little demoralizing, but it pushed me to give my all to whatever I was performing. There were a couple of times I gave my all over that year-and-a-half, but there were times I felt disconnected from what I was learning and confused without someone to really teach it to me the way that I needed. I did however find that connection with a few female teachers and one male teacher right near the end of school. For me personally, AMDA should have been longer. I wasn't finished growing by the time 3rd semester ended. AMDA came to an end and I was whisked away to make-up school where I was quite unhappy. But that is another story.

I love acting because I love the art of storytelling and will do my best at acting to make it a career. Yet, I also love a lot of the behind-the-scenes jobs in the entertainment business and I LOVE writing. That doesn't mean that I have given up on acting because I want to understand other avenues besides acting. AMDA gave me a great solid core after I was finished, but this last year I felt like I wasn't growing any more as a person and as an artist. Somehow along the way I started writing again and it began to make me feel whole as an artist. I`m awful with grammar so I wanted to take an English class to refresh my brain on it. Which is how I ended up back in school and I`m so very happy about it. For me that is a very big deal because of how draining regular school was and the related baggage I have carried since then. No ex-boyfriend baggage--just pure school baggage.

This fall I`m also planning on taking a class with an amazing teacher outside my bubble of AMDA teachers. I love them all very much but I was starting to feel unchallenged by the classes post-AMDA and knew I needed something outside of my comfort zone. It was a refreshing feeling once I found my new soon-to-be-teacher. I`m happy about the future and feel confident about it as well.

A Brief Summary: journey for a bearded man

By the time spring of Jenny Craig rolled around, I was tired of men. I was confused on a lot of levels by boys and still wasn't making that full connection with anyone. If I couldn't think past a certain point about whatever crush I had that week, I became cold because I knew it wasn't going anywhere. I would never throw myself into anything, except maybe the stories being told at work inside a box because it was safe and nothing was going to come out of it. My journey to meet a bearded man was starting to take a toll on me.

My consultant at JC was a young, tall, long haired,bearded man, who was sweet and easy to talk to. He never made me feel self-conscious about the weight I was losing, which was a first for me. He was also one of the boys that taught me how to talk to men in a open way, without being shy about it. Somewhere along the way he developed a crush on me. At first I was okay with going on dates with him, but something snapped inside me. I felt sad and angry that he liked me. He was someone that I felt like I didn't have to worry about. He was relentless in the way I wished for someone to be with me, but I just kept leaving him hanging. Even going so far as standing him up on dates. Something just didn't feel right about it.

Finally on July 5th, 2008, my bearded fellow walked into my life. He had long red beard, with long blonde hair, and a tan headband on. Once he finally walked over to me, introduced himself, the world seemed to disappear and all I saw was him. As corny as that sounds, it really is the truth. He was warming my heart to love with his kind words of interest.

Jenny Craig or JC for short was the balance that I was seeking. It helped give me my glow back, filling me with a new-found freedom. One the perks of JC was having a council to talk to, it was freeing to be able to talk to someone that wasn't a close friend of mine. I found that friends will tell you one thing when you really just need someone to support you in a true unattached way. Don't tell me I`m fine the way I am, when clearly I don't feel that way. Another obvious great thing about JC was the meals were made for you. You didn't have to think about what you were going to eat or if it was going to make you feel groggy.
Then late Fall of 2007, I got an 8 to 5 job at a special effects shop called ADI. I was surrounded by squids of the effects world. Everyone had a love for movies and wanted to share this love. The first couple of months I worked there I was educated on some of the basic things I love to this day. We traded movies, music, artists to know, and of course stories.
These stories then became emotionally confusing, leaving me drained in a different way. The one thing I had to keep me sane was JC. Jenny Craig was always there for me, even if I was unaware of it at the time. It gave me the hope and air that I needed.
I was growing, becoming more brave and learning to believe in myself. My body was beginning to feel whole--even my thoughts were growing stronger, taking in everything.

Gotta Break It Up

When I went away to AMDA, I was sure that everything in my life was about to change. It in some ways did. Every morning seemed exciting with different personalities flying everywhere. Some where strong, loud, bold, quiet, a whisper, weak, confused--and all having a desire to perform.

My first semester was a daze, with new feelings flying all around me. It started off with grace but slowly turned into a spiral of wide eyes. I had some major personal loss within the span of two weeks in November of 2005. I was far away from my friends and family making it very hard for me to communicate about what happened. The ones in Georgia understood what the loss felt like, some more than others but they were so far away.

Slowly my emotions gave way to food and I gained about 20 pounds from my first semester to my last semester of AMDA. Yes, I was a victim of the freshman fifteen plus some. I felt numb and unsure. This wasn't the girl I was supposed to become or even wanted to become. I had a tired anger for myself. AMDA was an emotional roller coaster leaving me feeling empty most of the time.

The empty feeling carried over to make-up school. I felt so unhappy because all I wanted to do was change. I NEEDED to change for myself. Once make-up school ended, I went home to visit my family. While there I cut my hair into a short bob and bleached my hair even blonder. It was a start to something new... But my change wasn't completed until I joined Jenny Craig....

It`s been ages but I haven't stopped thinking about you. I PROMISE that. Things have been crazy busy and slow all in the same time. My weeks have been conusmed by school, apartment hunting, 405 traffic ( my beast of burden theses days), and getting scenes together for my reel. I haven't really had to much time to enjoy the finer things in life. I`m trying though, little by little.

America the Bewildered

Note: This entry is past its prime but wanted to still put this out there. Just my opinion.

When the World Trade towers fell I was a freshman in high school. I was sitting in my English class with Ms. Peterson, who was a young teacher all the boys drooled over. Some of my peers had gone to the library and on their way back they had heard what happened. Once they informed us of what was happening, Ms. Peterson turned on ABC. While we were watching, a plane flew into the Pentagon. Mrs. Peterson`s father was working in the Pentagon at the time. She became panicked and left the room, leaving us alone with this news.

Now ten years later I`m in a new English class, learning that Osama bin Laden was killed the night before. My emotions were mixed. I`m glad that we live in America, even with all our faults. It feels like a chapter has been closed, leaving everyone with different opinions. I understood why people felt like we shouldn't be celebrating the death of a human. An eye for an eye or turn the other cheek? There is no doubt in my mind that if we were confronted by Osama bin Laden or his followers, they wouldn't have any doubt taking us down. On the other hand I understand why people felt like they should be celebrating. It seemed like everyone wanted to be a part of this moment in history. The times we live in are changing fast, leaving us feeling bewildered.

Even if my nose is clogged with a sinus infection a second time over, for the first time in a while I feel active and a need to be present in my life. My goals somehow seemed to have been pushed aside because of the feeling of pure fatigue from my nasty cold for a whole month. Now I have no excuses for my slacking; I need to remember to take time to do the things that I love. To give myself time in the day to breathe and live the life that I am meant to have.

My special musician boyfriend is a Yankee. The kind of Yankee that bleeds American blue politics which is at times a very interesting cute mix with my libertarian/ mildly conservative ways of thinking. I`m a young woman who comes from the South. Growing up in Georgia I found it hard to be myself. Everyone I guess finds it hard to be themselves. Some seem more graceful about it early on while others "grow into themselves." Some maybe lose their way and some never find themselves.
As a young girl (teenager) I was always determined to know who I was, what I liked, and to find more of something that seemed to fit me. Making it somewhat of a pain for me to relate to my girlfriends at the time. I had no true interest in boys. Of course I longed for a simple sweet relationship but my feelings were fleeting. At times I thought I should like someone--that was what girls did, right? But boys seemed to make my friends act nuts and at the core of it I wanted nothing to do with that. It wasn't until later that I realized it was fine that I didn't have multiple relationships in high school. Thank you Jesus! My head was and is filled with ideas of going to California to be an actress. My boyfriend would be somewhere out there. Finally God graced me with the opportunity to go to school in Hollywood.
I was shocked, my parents were shocked and maybe some friends were too. My parents are still in stock to this day that I made my move. Life in Hollywood took some time to get used to. I felt as if I was in a haze that only disappeared 3 years later. Slowly, while the fog left me, I began to work in a special effects shop. The year that I worked there was when I began to learn to move in my body as ME. But the boyfriend that I was looking for was not showing up. It seemed I had met every other Mike in Los Angeles before the right Mike walked over to me to say hello.
He`s an imperfect blue Yankee and I`m an imperfect Georgia Peach. We defiantly have our own opinions and speak them. But we are learning all the time how to make compromises. He`s a Yankee that makes me laugh and fills me with love.

I truly love these charming, spunky, opinionated, beautiful ladies. We all first met when we were 10, growing up in our small stiff southern town. Even though we were friends, we all had our different paths in school. It took us all awhile to get to that place of rock hard friendship. Maybe it was tragedy that brought us together..whatever it was, they are the closet things to sisters that I have..They never hold things against me, never make me feel uncertain; they always bring me up,stick by my side, truly listen and let me be me. Summer SCAD Girls

My time in Savannah was a cluster of freeing moments in the fourth year of the 21^st century. The air was hot with humidity bringing out extremely large cockroaches at twilight, but my mind couldn’t have been bothered with thoughts of my curls creeping up on my artificially straightened hair. I was too busy learning how to move freely. Savannah would be the place that set me on the path to finding confidences.

While my parents were driving me down from my small hometown in North Georgia to the coast, Savannah was calling me for a whole week. A whole week I was going to be free from everything and everyone. Although at that point “everything” was very little if anything at all, “everyone” was a group of former friends of mine. This group of friends was elitist and anything outside of their norm was very hard for them to understand. There were girls and boys dying to be in there mix, of course because we were heading into our senior year of high school, there would be no older students for them to suck up to. New minions were welcome since they were losing “friends” with their unrelenting bullying and undermining of other’s self values. For a whole beautiful week, I wouldn’t have to deal with any of them. My mind was beginning to feel free and charged with excitement.

Once my parents helped me check in and dropped my bags off at my dorm room, I was very much ready for them to leave. This adventure was starting to take place and I didn’t want to miss it. Finally, with my parents gone and my new found freedom, I couldn’t be held up in my room. I started walking the hallway. That’s when I spotted a girl named Kristy who seemed to be feeling the same happiness and curiosity. We wanted to hang out and meet new people right away, which we did until dinner time.

My first class was my mini fashion course. My teacher was a sweet British woman with light brown hair. When she informed us that we would be making our own outfits, I thought I was dying! I had no idea how to sew. “This was supposed to be a course on fashion, not creating fashion”, was my first young thought. The girl sitting next to me had gone to costume making camp the summer before. “They even have costume making camps” my brain was screaming?!?! Everything seemed to be moving in a whirlwind, but I made one kick ass emery board. At least I could do that.

My feelings for my mini film making course were those of confidence. I had this in the bag, for I had a small desire to be just like Sofia Coppola, who has a knack at creating golden moody feminine films, like The Virgin Suicides. For our final project we would be writing, story boarding, directing and filming a short film. Heaven, it felt like.

During our down time I was getting to know the amazing girls in my group, who I had things in common with. Especially, a girl named Noel, we seemed to be very much alike, except she had the confidence in herself that I craved and was learning about. We became like two peas in a pod that week. She was teaching me to be secure with myself and to not be so stiff. Loosen up, go with the flow, and don’t worry so much.

My fashion course was becoming a bit overwhelming, even with screaming calls to my mother about how I had no idea how to sew. We made a trip to the local Salvation Army store to get together everything we needed to make our outfits. Luckily, I found a dress that was a cream top and a navy skirt. My idea was to change the bottom, sleeves and add a belt with purple tool. I did not realize how hard it would be to sew tool. In turn the tool was creating a bigger problem for me. My sweet British teacher helped me after a certain point. I was just not getting it, even though I was trying my damnedest. She seemed to have great patience for me and was able to really tap into what I personally found interesting. Caleb, my friend, sitting next to me, informed me how attractive he found my teacher to be. She had a slight drop in her eye, confusing me, because I had yet to understand that imperfections could be attractive. Caleb was your typical male artist with a dark tan and chocolate brown curls driving girls mad with desire, giving them the attention that they craved. While his well off parents wanted him to be an architect, he seemed to want nothing more than to be an artist lover expressing himself in other ways.

While my fashion class seemed daunting at times, my film class was moving fast at times, making it impossible for me to pay real attention. I was very happy socializing about what we all loved and had interests in. Looking back, we probably drove our teacher nuts but I could have cared less then. As a group we came up with the idea for a short story about a cowboy being followed by a bowl of grits and having a show down at the very end. While we were shooting the short, we were learning how to use a camera, a boom, and a light meter. When we started learning about the light meter, that is when I remembering mentally shutting down. We had to use math to determine how much light was being processed threw the camera. Math is a fear of mine that I’m just now coming to be okay with and to understand a little better.

Suddenly, our week had come to an end. We had finished our projects and had them on display for our parents to view. Everything in my body was screaming for this week not to come to an end. I didn’t want to say goodbye, didn’t want to have to go back to deal with the same “friends” again, and I didn’t want to lose those moments. I remember my parents walking around the display room and my feeling was of angry because that meant it was time to go back to my other life. Everything had changed for me that week. That experience gave me courage, hope, an understanding of what I wanted, and a new found happiness.

Of course, once the week had ended I was on my way home balling my eyes out like a baby. We all made promises to keep in touch, but slowly over time those promises fade with life changes. At that time I needed those people to come into my life. There were some us that needed each other more than others did. Mollie Dry (one of the girls in my group) and I stayed very close after that summer. She even came down for my 19^th birthday party. When it was time for us to finally go away to college, we all had made our choices on where we were going. We tried to stay in close touch with each other but over time there was less and less communication until none at all. Everyone that one week played some part whether big or small in helping shape me as a confident person to this day. For that they will always have a special place in my heart.

I figured this would be a great way to hold myself accountable for some of my goals in 2011, although I would not mind having a close friend hold me accountable for some of these goals. Sometimes when you involve a friend it can become messy and feel more like judgment. So having the social media world hold me accountable seems like a smart safe way.

The New Year is coming soon and I feel more prepared for it then I have in awhile. This year I wanna truly let myself be me. Free from worry, lack of respect from multiple parties,and not letting clutter fitter my progress. Progress.Which is something that is outwardly seen and inwardly known. I hate that progress is something that humans judge of other humans. Sometimes it feels like a race on who can out-do the other. I would like to out-do myself and I know that I can. At times this spins into self-righteousness which is something that I feel has been a common theme of the past year. This is something that I would like to not do and if I notice friends doing the same thing I would like to speak up about it.It has hurt me to not speak up and hurt others that are close to me. In turn I hope my loved ones do the same for me.
Growth. It`s starting now. In small ways but I`m trying to create habits that are not vices but will help for my personal growth. One being that I write more of blondunderwater for myself. How can I expect to have followers if I don't keep up? Another habit that I`m trying to create is to follow up on good ideas that I have. To not be afraid of just doing it. Just do it.Get it done.The other habit that I broke and am now trying to get back is walking a good amount during the week. Be good to your body and your body will be good to you.
Everything will happen in time with good faith, patience, drive, hard work, and being true to myself.

My brain feels tired and I`m trying to find motivation to just start moving. Drinking a bold coffee isn't helping me either. Green tea sounds yummy with some soy yogurt and a walk a little later. Walking clears my brain. Every time I walk, I`m pounding away frustration towards any situation in life that has upset me in some way. It calms me. Frees me. Gives me a happiness that I should always remember when I`m acting like a baby for getting me out the door for a work out. It helps me have confidence about moving forward in life. Lets me feel free in my body. My body feels excited after with tons of energy for anything. So I`m guessing I should close this and get my butt into gear. The day as started so here I go!!

Rooney - Tell Me Soon

I have a deep deep love for a band named Rooney. Anyone that knows me really well and sometimes not so well knows how true this is. It all happened in the 8th grade, when watching The Princess Dairy`s at my grandparents house in Houston. When a boy came on the screen with shaggy hair and a bitten smile across his face, my heart fell. I was hooked and curious on who he was, so like any good 8th grader I looked him up on the internet. He`s name was Robert Schwartzman. Then under another link, was to a band name Rooney that he happened to be in. This link was opening so many cans of worms for my younger girl days. They were four boys living in Los Angeles with a tight style that I had never seen on boys before. Maybe in my dreams or in movies but never something semi close to my age. There music made me want to dance and was way a to let me break free from school and my very self conscious self.

On a very horrible freshman Spring Break in Tampa, I was reading Elle Girl to pass some time. I came across a small article with Mr.Schwartzman in it. The one thing that stuck out in my brain was the fact that he liked the band The Cars. Being someone who loves 80`s music and loves The Cars couldn't believe a boy would like them. All of the boys I knew made fun of me for liking 80`s music. It went out side of their box of rap and country. My heart swelled with hope that something was out there for me. Boys like that would get me.

Finally in the 10th grade I got to see my first show. It was a amazing fun night for me. I was free with the city lights of Atlanta bouncing around me and felt a happy high of possibility`s of anything. I could be me and not be judged. Over my high school years I frequented their shows with the same happiness of my first.

My goal was to figure out a way for me to get to Los Angeles to pursue my dreams. I did, landing a slot in the school AMDA. My first week was one of shock. New location, away from the comfort home and new faces starring at me, wanting to know more. It was all a bit over whelming.

My new friendly acquaintance Ali Vesey took me to my first In-N-Out on Sunset. Walking in I discovered to my surprise, in the line to order was Louie (the keyboardist in Rooney). I quickly explained everything to Ali. Her being a bit bolder then myself at that time went to where he was standing. We ended up chatting with him and hes mustached cousin for a little awhile. Eventually after our food was eaten we had to leave, but before we left Louie asked for my phone number. I was on cloud nine and still in shock. He never called though. Life moved forward leaving my first week in LA behind and entering the five year mark this past August. My love for Rooney is now of fondness . They still make me giggle but I think from what I can tell, they have grown into some pretty nice gentlemen.

Rooney gave me hope.Without hope life would be very different now. They gave me hope during my school years.Which at times were very difficult and they created a outlet for me. Moving away from home gave me a different view of the band. It was then of comfort. These past five years have been of shedding old insecurity`s, figuring out what I want and need out of life, making great friends, feeling apart of something, discovering old friends again, dancing freely, smiling more,jumping in to creative parts, losing myself, finding myself once more and never again will I be afraid to be who I am. I even found my own special musician boyfriend who loves The Cars. We haven't seen a Rooney show together yet but soon very soon.

Stagnant

I`m restless and tired... My foot is tapping to go out for hours and explore...None the less something always comes up and it gets pushed aside...My feelings towards the go are ever changing but I am becoming happy again. The feelings that things can change and will change are all around me. Making me very excited again to be around friends and making new friends. I was being bored with conversations, self righteous attitudes, lack of excitement and being disappointed in myself. Maybe the months before I was turning 25 I was having some anxiety about it. Whatever my feelings were during the summer they seem to have change and I feel in control of what my life is becoming. Making me feel strong again, not being afraid to tell my opinion towards anything. Not hiding what I truly find amusing or where I want to be in life. Confronting what needs to be confronted and not being afraid. The worst thing is to be afraid and not dealing with anything. Making myself feel stagnant because of these feeling of being afraid. I refuse to feel this way and will go strongly with confidence towards life's adventures from now on.

No longer do I feel restless with a tapping foot but moving swiftly with dancing feet. I will not return to my folly.

If I was ever car sick when I was young and that happened a lot on the road trips to visit the Grandparents, sometimes the only thing that could make me feel better was listening to The Rolling Stones. I`m not sure really why, but maybe its because if I was crying for whatever reason my mom would put me in front of the t.v when one of their videos was on and I would stop all together and watch Mick Jagger. My love for eccentric men still runs true to this day.

It wasn't until I was a little older that I heard about Marianne Faithfull and years later that I fell in love with her style. Of course being a muse for Mick Jagger didn't hurt my interest in her in either. I must say I got the faith. She seems to have an ease about her that the camera definitely captured in her younger years. Enjoy! Oh, and Happy Wednesday.

I`m a horrible blogger. My margins and templates are a mess because my concentrated state always disappears. I wanna be good, I wanna be great--it`s always I`s. What makes a great blog?

The ones that I read are about relationships, places to be and go if you're in some city, how to cook, and all that jazz. Then when I think about writing about events in my life I drift away someplace open but small. Not everyone`s life grabs me by the balls and makes me want to know. Everyone has a need to be known--we want to be in love so we can be known to somebody. I wonder if wanting the world to know us has taken the place of wanting a live being next to us, who knows us?

Some people don`t care to read about anybody else, and that is fine. I care to know because I`m always trying to see if somebody "understands." Or if they are able to put my emotions into words that I can`t at that moment. Sometimes just to have a little motivation going on.

Miller and I have been MIA on the social scene for awhile now. Miller having the tendency to hibernate and I just not really wanting to party. I`m ready to get out of that state and to just go places. It`s funny realizing that some people just don't want to talk about David Lynch non-stop. Or how we all should be progressing forward. Proceeding and finishing projects. Finishing up. Cleaning up. Not giving excuses. Just doing it and moving it. Let`s face it, you can only talk about water for so long before it drys up.

My skills for giving the small plastic party talk have disappeared.

When I was 22, I was all about Pattie Boyd.Rock and romance of the 60`s and 70`s always gets my attention.
She had just come out with her biography,Wonderful Tonight.
During that summer I read George Harrison`s I * ME * MINE, and then of course wanted anything I could get my hands on about Pattie Boyd.

It came out at a perfect time. I was working at a great shop and enjoying everyone's company. But I was growing and starting to let go of things that were holding me back, coming of age I guess you would call it. Learning about my strengths, how far you could push me,how far I could push myself,finding new adventures,going on awful dates and repressing emotions that I thought I would never feel.

During the summer of 2008 I locked myself in a new apartment reading To Kill A Mockingbird for the first time.

I was learning grace and the reasons why men are pretty simple at times. Or just why you have to own who you are as a person. What every Southern girl should know best is how to acknowledge her own beauty and how to know who she is as a person.

Although she might not be right out there beautiful, there is just something about Sarah Jessica Parker that`s right out sexy. She owns who she is as a person, caries herself upright and wears her clothes as if she is meant to be in them. The character Carrie shouldn't make one feel as if she should reject her vagina. In fact every character on that show owns who she is and doesn't shy away from it. I came across a blog that bashed SJP the other day. I noted the irony of a young woman who lives a life very similar to Miss Bradshaw, writing observations about relationships and cities and careers... But she can't stand Sex in the City.

Girls at times will do things for shock value. I am not saying that I have never done something like that. But why would I want to try to be anything that I am not? Or speak a vulgar language, abuse my sexuality, use huge words to sound smarter all for the attention of the male sex? When I could just be myself, without broadcasting again and again that I am these things.

I AM THESE things because of this or that, but there comes a time when you have to accept it and then move on. Instead of trying to always bring up why you do certain things, pick certain people to date, and draw from these boils to create whatever your creative endeavors may be. Own it and stop holding it over everyone's head. That is when things fall into place in the whole matter. THESE THINGS do not define you as a person, it's what you take from THOSE THINGS that will define you as a human.

THOSE THINGS will stare you in the face and not let go just like a face hugger.

I got sweet sweet love for Marilyn Monroe.
For as long as I can remember I have been fiercely protective of her. It`s an odd connection that I have always felt towards her. Almost as if I understand her to a TEE, without ever meeting her for that matter, not even having been alive at the same time she was.

The thought of me hadn't even crossed my parents' pre-teenaged brains.
When I say all of this I don't mean in a crazy "wanna be just like her" kind of way. From an actor`s point of view and from what I can gather a personal view as well, she speaks to me. Mainly as an actor she makes far more sense to me in the way she went about her craft.

It was just another day working with Clyde, wearing a leather (lambskin) bustier...Anything that is wam bam in your face sexy drives me a little crazy..Take PlayBoy: I love the older covers but the newer covers always fall short to me...The girls seem less real to me from the make up, hair color,and (the obvious) their breasts.

That`s why I like older movies and new-but-old-feeling shows like MAD MEN..The women in these seem like something that you can hold without smearing it all over your face and hands. But at the same time I still have love for the show THE GIRLS NEXT DOOR with Holly,Kendra,and Bridgette. Doesn't make too much sense does it?
